You may have come across this picture of a girl holding her father's hand and crying. It's so emotional and there is this instant urge to share with all your 'friends'and contacts on social media like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and other platforms.

This emotional photo is often misinterpreted as a real news event.
But, wait! There is nothing wrong with the picture, but we need to look at that accompanying texts carefully. It reads: Her dad was leading on a 2-year deployment. She was crying and wouldn't let go of her dad's hand, even when he stood in line.

Now, what a more conscious social media user would do is a little research and it is not difficult to find out this photo and the texts are totally unrelated to a real news event.

What is this photo really: This is actually a screengrab taken from Army Wives Season 4 Episode 13. You can see for yourself if you want to. It is a scene from about the last five minutes of the TV series.

The Texts: It is captioned either deliberately by some anti-war individuals or an inadvertent error passed on as a real news event that happened somewhere in the world.

Lesson: Do some research before sharing anything on social media. Or, do not forward 'news' or info unless you verify the material.
