How to get EVM-based SBI Debit ATM Card (Simple)

The Reserve Bank of India issued a notification on August 27 that all 'normal' ATM cards should be replaced with an EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) chip ATM-cum-debit card. The last date for complying with this order is December 31, 2018.

Please note: There are no charges to replace your card with the EMV based card. In addition, there will be no change in the annual maintenance charges. Charges will be the same as the magstripe based card.

There are two ways to get your new EMV-based ATM card. 

1. Go to
2. Login to your account by entering your user ID and password
3. On the homepage, click e-services tab.
4. From dropdown menu, select 'ATM card services'
5. Under 'ATM card services', select, 'Request ATM/Debit Card'
6. A new page will appear on your screen. Select the savings account for which you wish to receive the new ATM card. Enter the name which has to be printed on the card and select the type of ATM card you wish to receive from the dropdown menu.
7. Click Submit. A new ATM card will be sent to your home address within 7 days.

(Do this between 8 am and 8 pm only).

Another way to get your new ATM card is by visiting your bank's home branch. If you do not have access to Internet banking, visit your local bank branch and apply for new EMV chip-based card. Fill the form and submit at the bank. The ATM card will be sent to your home address within 7 working days.
